There are choices to be made in life. The choice we make goes a long way in putting us on the path of destiny. Of all the choices available, one of the most important is the choice of a life partner. Yeah, a life partner. You heard me right.
As simple as this choice sounds, it can make or mar you. I have
witnessed recently, a lot of fanfare associated with the popping of the question “will you marry me?”. I am yet to hear the news of a lady saying “No.” This got me wondering, “Why are all the guys ‘Mr Right’ or are many ‘Mr Available ‘ getting a Yes?”
There are many factors responsible for this, among which are societal expectation, fear of loneliness, long dating (yes! dating). Even a lot of Christians get caught in this web. You have known each other for so long, it seems the natural thing to do is to answer yes.
You may want to answer these questions; Is he/she God-fearing and ready to walk the walk with God involved? Would I want to wake up all my life seeing him/her? Would I want to spend the rest of my life with him/her? What with the things I have discovered? Am I prepared to cope with his/her weaknesses? Am I resolved to make help him/her become a better person? Do our aspirations agree?
