Everyone has a person living inside of him. That is why we boldly say “I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” God took time to form you and deposited so much in you. It is the reason people differ and one man’s weakness is another man’s strength.
In relating with others, it is what comes out of you that determines how you are viewed. And it goes a long way in shaping their perception of you. However, it is pertinent that everyone creates his own identity. You must be known for something. Your identity is your person. It is dangerous to live in someone else’s shadow. It is very saddening that a lot of people are content living in someone’s shadow because they perceive the person has enough clout to pull them through. They forget that human existence is transient and no condition is permanent. The person could even decide to yank you off his agenda. In such cases, you may melt into oblivion or sinkinto depression.
You may probably have a spouse, parent or friend who is considered a celebrity. Everywhere you go, you are recognized as his wife, her daughter or his friend. No one deals with you on your own pedestal, you are treated based on his clout. In other words “you are using his shine to shine.” When you have dealings with people, they only know you as the governor’s wife (or side chick), the music star’s friend, the L.G chairman’s daughter. This way you are not allowed to exert yourself. Your potentials take a back seat and red carpets are rolled out for you unearned.
Consider how transient humanity is. The governor could be relieved of his post or he could even die. Reality will dawn on you suddenly and you will discover how quickly human beings forget. You will look around and since you have nothing to offer them PERSONALLY, you become a nobody suddenly.
Rise up today, shine your own shine. Start little, be consistent and allow God to help you up there. There is a place reserved for you at the top. You are a BRAND waiting to be launched.
